NJ Supreme Court awarded $ 7M for mesothelioma sufferers

New Jersey Supreme Court rejected appeals by ExxonMobil decided to award $ 7,000,000 to give to Bonnie Anderson, who once worked as an electrician, who suffered from mesothelioma after exposure to asbestos from the Exxon refinery.
Previously the company has filed an appeal, they argue that number is too big for exposure compensation. Supreme grand refused to hear an appeal, which means that $ 7,000,000 will still be given to Anderson's (or immediate family if she dies before the money is given.)
Anderson now age 62 and worked at ExxonMobil Bayway Refinery Linden, along with her husband, John. In 2001 Anderson was diagnosed with mesothelioma and since then she has struggled for life and for their rights. In 2008 she was awarded $ 7,000,000 by a jury that agreed that mesothelioma was directly caused by exposure to asbestos at work or through contact with hazardous materials on the clothing of her husband.
Anderson must accept the decision "bitter" the Supreme Court considering that she had undergone a grueling series of chemotherapy, which is the standard treatment for mesothelioma. Patients with mesothelioma usually only last between 1 and 5 years to life, depending on the stage of disease and where the tumor occurs in the body. But Anderson could live longer than other patients.
ExxonMobil initially refused demands from Anderson even though she worked at their refineries since 1975-1986, according to Anderson was their job as an electrician and not going direct contact with asbestos.
However, Anderson's husband has worked for 25 years at the plant isolation to fix the pump and filter asbes. Asbes-containing materials are used in this work because it may add strength to the material and has heat resistance and flame. Asbestos fibers is known to stick to the dirty clothes, which then can be inhaled by people, although not in direct contact with materials containing asbestos. Because of this, the claim of the ExxonMobil can be defeated.
Anderson has repeatedly undergone surgery, blood transfusions, and suffered from a series of chemotherapy, but to acknowledge that there is no cure for the disease that is slowly killing him. Because of that directly or not, Anderson has pioneered in the defense business awareness of mesothelioma and partially responsible for nationally celebrated Mesothelioma Awareness Day (26 September). But certainly the Supreme Court of New Jersey has awarded $ 7M for mesothelioma sufferers.
